Athletes - carte blanche at C215 at the National Sport Museum in Nice Bd des jardiniers - Stade Allianz Riviera 06203 Nice fr

The National Sport Museum of Nice leaves "Carte Blanche" to the artist C215 and gives an appointment to all the enthusiasts and lovers of Street Art.

Every two years, the museum leaves a "carte blanche" to a contemporary artist to allow him to express himself in a temporary exhibition space of 500 m2.

After hosting the sculptor Laurent Perbos in 2015, he invited today to unveil its C215 perception of the sport by the force of his talent.

From urban walls to galleries around the world

Born in 1973, Christian Guémy, aka C215, is one of the most famous street artists in the world. He lives in Vitry-sur-Seine where he has his workshops, and he creates his first works in 2005 on the walls of his city, helping to make it one of the world's capitals of the discipline.

Working mainly with a stencil in a very recognizable style, he paints portraits in connection with his favorite subjects: childhood, the neglected, the anonymous, the lovers, but also the animals (dogs, cats and birds ).

In addition to his creations in the streets of the world, Christian Guémy also presents works painted on any type of object in numerous galleries, in France and abroad.

Sports place!

Also passionate about sports, C215 is set up from February 10 at Musée National du Sport, with a new exhibition unpublished soberly entitled "Athletes".

Under the impulse of Thibault Sarda, curator of the exhibition, the museum located in Nice offers a "carte blanche" to present nearly 40 portraits of famous sportsmen including Tony Parker, Antoine Griezmann, Philippe Croizon, Laura Flessel, Marie-Amelie Le Fur, Sarah Ourahmoune and many others. A tribute will also be made in Florence Arthaud, Camille Muffat, and Alexis Vastine.

Réalisées sur des supports uniques constitués d’objets ayant appartenu aux athlètes, les œuvres exposées expriment toute la créativité et l'admiration de C215 pour les exploits réalisés par les athlètes.

Produced on unique supports made up of objects that belonged to the athletes, the exhibits express all the creativity and admiration of C215 for the exploits performed by the athletes.

Art & sport, the National Sport Museum continues its concept "carte blanche"

For many years, artists have been inspired by the world of sport. While the National Sport Museum is the jewel box for sporting objects, it also questions more widely the reflection that these witnesses give to the history of our society.

In the same way as these objects, the works of art allow a representation of the sport, its stakes and its emotions.
