Corsica: The Rencontres des Chants Polyphoniques in Calvi Carrughju Di U Filu 20260 Calvi fr

(Dates to be confirmed)

In 1989, a small meeting beetween the A Filetta and Su Cuncordu e Tenore de Orosei groups, organized by the U Svegliu Calvese in the Cathédrale Saint Jean Baptiste de Calvi, sealed an informal partnership between the Corsican singers. Over the course of time, this regional cultural association would become an anchor for the "fils du vent."

Thus, the Rencontres de Chants Polyphoniques was born. This initial collaboration would bring together two partners on the path to creation: from A Passione au Via Crucis to Médée and Don Ghjuvanni in Commedia dell'Arte, if one would push, the other would pull. The groups play off one another and continue to explore their distinct but complementary artistic languages.

In 1989, the unofficial subtitle of the Rencontres was "à l'iniziu c'era a voce - at the beginning, there was a voice." This was the beginning of an adventure full of hope, curiosity, pride, and doubts - the beginning of an institution that would be echoed all over the world.
