The thirtieth edition of the Roc d'Azur is already shaping up as a big celebration!
Since it was founded in 1984, the reputation of the Roc d'Azur has been to a large extent due to the always combative champions who come to finish their season with a bang in the Les Maures massif.
The Roc Master (1,800 riders) has been moved from Friday to Thursday in order to bring down the Friday programme to more manageable levels. The Tri Roc (an off-road triathlon with 1,500 m of swimming near the nature base in Fréjus, 34 km of MTB in the Les Maures massif and 12 km of running on the nature base), which stunned the 300 participants which took part in its first edition in 2012, will take place on Sunday and test the form of 500 triathletes this time round.
Like every year, apart from MTB, there will also be BMX races at the heart of the Roc village, together with the return of the descent down the Côte de Sainte-Maxime.
The organisers are pulling out all the stops to ensure the participants enjoy the thirtieth edition, for which several festivities are being looked at, including a Hall of Fame celebrating all those who went down in the history books of the Roc d'Azur.
To symbolise this desire, the 2013 edition of the Roc will be baptised "Roc Evolution".
