The Gulf of Valinco

Unmissable sights in the Sartenais Valinco Taravo region

Campomoro tower stands on the southernmost point of the Gulf of Valinco in the village of Belvédère-Campomoro, 8km from Propriano.
Dating from the late 16C, this Genovese tower took just one year to complete and is now a listed historic monument forming part of the network of towers surrounding Corsica which once protected the island from Barbarian invasions. The largest of the towers built along on the coast, it boasts unusual star-shaped ramparts. The tower has recently been restored and now houses a permanent exhibition highlighting the history of its construction.
