Bordeaux from the seaside

In the morning, take the train from Bordeaux (External link) station to the town of Arcachon (1h) and reach the Arcachon Bay and the Atlantic coast.

Discover the famous winter town of Arcachon with its beautiful 18th century houses. Afterwards, head to the seafront and have lunch in one of the many restaurants facing the beach.

In the afternoon, take a boat trip on the Bay of Arcachon and taste oysters while stopping at an oyster port on the Cap Ferret peninsula. Discover the Cabanes Tchanquées and the Dune du Pilat - the highest sand dune in Europe - two of the region's most emblematic sites.

Or cross the Arcachon Bay by boat to the Cap Ferret pear, hire a bike, visit the peninsula, and swim in the Atlantic Ocean.
