Slow food tour at Rennes farmers market
Following the spirit of the Slow Food association “Rennes top Gallo” that promotes good, clean and balanced eating, the chefs from Rennes invite visitors to join them for a gourmet walk of Rennes ‘Marché des Lices’ farmers market.
The ‘Marché des Lices’ is one of France’s finest farmers market and the second largest in France. Every Saturdays, more than 300 producers from all over the region display their wares on their colorful stalls on the picturesque square of the same name.
Wander the market, and taste Breton specialties. Local producers love to share their passion for their work and they’ll introduce you to their specialty (cider, cheese, veggies...).
Before leaving the market, make sure you bow to local tradition and enjoy a galette-saucisse (sausage wrapped in a buckwheat pancake) or a galette complète (buckwheat pancake filled with ham, cheese, and egg).
First food market in Rennes labeled Sunday in Rennes, the “Marché à manger” gathers several thousand people in the heart of the Halles Centrales of Rennes 4 times a year. Since the first edition in July 2016, more than thirty chefs have succeeded each other. Live cooking, dishes for less than 8 €, meeting with the chefs, large convivial tables: everyone is welcome to discover the richness of local gastronomy, in a relaxed atmosphere.

Art Rock - Saint-Brieuc: 2-4 June 2017h
Music and Good food!
Taking place every Whit weekend, the Art Rock festival kicks off the season of Breton festivals.
Every Whitsun without fail, with spring in their hearts, the crowds arrive in this Côtes d’Armor county town. They come to celebrate established cult rock-music icons, or to discover the new Messiahs of pop.
Art'Rock also hosts its own food festival called Rock'n Toques! Gastronomy takes to the street with great names of Breton gastronomy offering visitors to tastestreet food whilst enjoying music, dance, theater, street theater, digital arts, and visual arts in Saint Brieuc Bay. The event Rock'n Toques highlights the talents of Chefs and the diversity of the local cuisine. Amongst them, Chefs of Michelin starred restaurants of ‘La Vielle Tour’ and ‘Aux Pesked’ will prepare exceptional dishes in front of visitors. Caterers, pastry chefs, artisan glacier and crepe makers also attend this gourmet festival.
And 2017 promises to be a very special issue, with many surprises, as Rock’n Toques celebrates its 10th anniversary!
