Normandy Impressionist Festival

The 4th year of the Normandy Impressionist Festival will be held from 3 April to 6 September 2020. For the occasion, many events will be organised throughout the Normandy region to appeal to young and old alike. Here’s a little taster to whet you’re cultural appetite...

A multi-disciplinary festival, Normandy Impressionist presents Impressionism in all its forms and is also committed to putting contemporary work in the spotlight. Like an artistic bridge linking the past with the present, it invites visitors on an artistic journey from the 19th century to today.

Reflecting the varied innovations of the Impressionist period, Normandy Impressionnist takes all forms of artistic creation into account, from painting to music, dancing, photography, cinema, and son et lumière. There’s something for everyone here.

A cultural and festive atmosphere in Normandy

The festival programme is eclectic, with major exhibitions, public debates, conferences, shows and major digital projects. While the atmosphere is strongly cultural, there’s plenty of room left for partying. Enjoy breakfast on the grass, regattas, balls and café sessions. All family members will find something for them.

Taking place throughout Normandy, the festival unites many of the region’s cultural figures for a quality offering that has attracted over a million visitors in previous years. The Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rouen, the MuMa in Le Havre and the Impressionist Museum in Giverny usually participate in the festival and open their doors to unveil their projects to the general public.

Although next year’s programme isn’t quite finalised, there’s no doubt that it will appeal to culture lovers. Just wait a little longer to find out more!
