Celebration by the dance of love in all its forms

Benjamin Millepied reinvents the mythical ballet with the music of Sergei Prokofiev: the protagonists are young adults of the modern urban world, confronted with social norms that make their union impossible. A different cast of dancers every night foresees variations of genres to make this Romeo and Juliet a celebration of the dance of love in all its forms, through the lense of modern day LA.

The ultra-modern equipment of La Seine Musicale and Benjamin Millepied's vision

On stage, the show promises to take advantage of the venue's ultra-modern equipment: unique projection devices creates live scenes from unexpected places in the main house or backstage at La Seine Musicale, taking the dancers from the stage to the screen while they are filmed live.

At La Seine Musicale, the Parisian venue dedicated to all forms of music and dance inaugurated in 2017, Benjamin Millepied combines dance, cinema and theatre to rediscover an emblematic and dramatic history of thwarted passion. This modern and unique version will be performed by the dancers of the L.A. Dance Project.

The dance company led by the French choreographer and Sébastien Marcovici is composed of twelve dancers based in Los Angeles. They perform the new creations of Benjamin Millepied, revivals of historical ballets and original creations of emerging choreographers. The L.A. Dance Project’s repertoire highlights multidisciplinary collaborations with videographers, photographers, musicians, designers and music composers.
