On certain days, the local mounts are reserved for cyclists and it’s easy to get hold of a bicycle or electrically assisted bike from the local rental firms.
And as anyone who’s ever been on a bicycle knows, there are no big or small cycling adventures – every foray is an experience unto itself.
Our town and city centres are bicycle-friendly, while slow tourism fans appreciate the region’s hundreds of cycling routes, perched over the Mediterranean shores or criss-crossing the valleys of the Southern Alps.

Three unique long-distance trails plus France’s largest mountain bike domain promise freeriders, X-Country, All Mountain, Downhill, BMX and Gravel Bike fans a ride to remember.

Cycle touring is very popular here too, with trails such as the ViaRhôna – the French portion of the Eurovelo 8 route - linking Camargue to the Southern Alps, Mediterranean and Italian border.
