The second largest metropolis in France, Lyon is the perfect representation of the French art of living. Today, it is one of the most beautiful and attractive urban destinations in Europe, with an exceptional historical journey through 2000 years of history.

Capital of gastronomy and city of Paul Bocuse, Lyon is rich in incredible diversity thanks to its geographical position at the crossroads of regions with exceptional products and the excellence of its talented and inventive chefs. With all these attractions, Lyon remains a city on a human scale and is committed to offering its visitors a different experience while respecting responsible development. From the golden stone villages of the Beaujolais to the steep vineyards of the Côtes Rôties, Lyon's surroundings lend themselves perfectly to a day trip and will delight lovers of history, landscapes, and wines.

Sites not to be missed

  • The Vieux-Lyon and its traboules: the Vieux-Lyon is one of the largest Renaissance ensembles in Europe. The 24 hectares of the district were saved thanks to the Malraux Law in 1964. Since then, the authorities have been renovating the 15th and 16th century buildings of this pedestrian and tourist district. Its cobbled streets are full of activities, shops and restaurants. A curiosity of Lyon, the traboules allow you to go from one street to another by crossing the courtyards and galleries of the buildings.

  • Fourvière, its basilica and its Roman theatres: It is on this "hill which prays" that Lugdunum was founded in 43 BC. Here is one of the most imposing ancient archaeological complexes. At the top of the hill stands one of the most emblematic buildings of Lyon: the Basilica of Fourvière, from where you can admire the most beautiful view of the city.
